On a days like this past week, I am not going to complain about my job. I headed-up to Healdsburg to check on the latest progress made on the projects with Exclusive Holdings. It was a slow winter because the exorbitant amount of rain Northern California received this season - literally shut down the sites for several months. But, it's been a beautiful Spring, so we are back up and running.

It was good to get back on the sites and meet the guys. If we haul, all of the projects will be done in time before fall harvest!

Well...it's tempting.

I love Nashville, but there aren't many places that do Luxury Homes better than LA. It is where I started my career, and while the homes are ostentatiously large, the value of the market hold very strong even in a down economy. I remember when I graduated in 2008, the market had crashed, but I was building a $50m mansion in a bubble in the middle of Bel-Air. And, after you live in a place that doesn't ever take longer than 15 minutes to get across town, i wouldn't mind dealing with a little traffic on a drive out to Malibu.

I have had a few opportunities cross my desk this month, so spent some time back in the City of Angels analyzing...I wouldn't mind working back with my old team, including my favorite contractor ...

Aspen, CO

We were fortunate enough to spend the week with our dear friends in Aspen skiing, hosted by my husband’s Aunt Christine (endearingly called “Kiki” by the family) – if there is any destination to be considered for “Luxury Livingness,” it’s Aspen! I had never been and it was incredibly inspiring in terms of luxury residential real estate, with the cabin meets Southwest-style of interiors everywhere.

Obviously, it is a well-known skiing destination, but beyond that, the little town of Aspen is absolutely adorable with shops and restaurants amongst the snow. There is also a prominent art scene, and Kiki founded a charity called Les Dames d’Aspen, that benefits such arts – theatre, jazz, ballet, and art scholarships for students. Kiki also took us to also took us to The Caribou Club, which was a fun spot to hang for the night and has the homey feel of a cabin, with chalet-inspired interiors:

The Germantown condo deal has gained some huge momentum in these past weeks, as the post-holiday idleness has worn off, and the architects are gearing-up to submit plans for permit. I am beyond excited to be working with Dennis Devine, whose extensive experience in Condo development, will be in the very least educational. I believe in this deal because it offers two things Nashville lacks: waterfront living, and Germantown luxury condos (currently apartment saturated).

Some recent papers agree:

Belle Meade, Nashville, TN

I am offering a new perspective on 4300 Lillywood as I recently put it back on the market in the new year. I am appealing to who I think the buyer is: someone who is a bit artistic, understands modern architecture, appreciates Bauhaus design – which is a bit of a rarity in Belle Meade if I am being honest. I have become a bit enamored by some of the photographers on Instagram lately, that just …have a way with pictures. I don’t understand how they make everything look so interesting and beautiful.

I made some significant improvements to the the property recently, and wanted to capture it. Which brings me to an incredibly talented photographer, who shot the “new 4300 Lillywood” through his creative lens. I met him through @moderndayleaders, who is a Nashville-native visionary on many fronts including real estate, through the power of social media and his huge following. Check out the new look and feel of this listing:

Well, it’s a New Year, and pardon my silence, but I have been hibernating down South in a far, warmer place than Nashville in the dead of winter. Waiting, so to speak, for the fruits of the past year’s labor.

And it was a hell of a first year of development in Nashville: 3 projects, 20,000 square feet of renovations, juggling a new team of over 35 subcontractors, and if it all goes accordingly, projected sales of $10m. California boasted the same, with 2 projects on the market, and 3 more in progress. Now, it is just a matter of them selling – the election is over, the holidays have passed, and the early spring market is hot in Tennessee. California is just about to gain speed. Finger’s crossed.

It’s probabl...

4121 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN

The weeks leading up to the Preview Party, consisted of many late nights on the jobsite, and a huge effort from our entire team- hence evening McDonalds and cervezas for the guys on several occasions. Though the house is not yet complete, we wanted to Preview the home to the community during the holiday season, before the dead of winter. This home is very historical, and many Nashvillians, especially in the music industry, had attended a party or played music here at some point in decades past. It was the home of most obviously, Tammy Wynette & George Jones, but also The Scruggs Family, and Hank Williams. I have had the family of Tammy Wynette walk through the house as well while we were under construction, and her daughter loved the renovation.

The week leading up to launch…
